Fringe Binge 2017 Show #11 - Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Assembly Rooms, 2010, 06-Aug-17

This really needs no introduction. It's a live version of the much-loved (by me certainly, as well as much of the country) TV show which is sadly no longer on air (the US version still is I believe). You know the drill - it's an improvisation sketch show based on suggestions thrown out by the audience.

Clive Anderson was compering, the troupe was comprised of Greg Proops, the fabulous Josie Lawrence, Mike McShane and Phill Jupitus, ably supported on keyboard by Kirsty Newton.

And very funny it was too. No point in trying a review or analysing - it is very funny and talented people doing funny and silly things. Of particular note is Clive Anderson's droll commentary, interludes and introduction, but all were excellent. Special mention to Josie Lawerence who never fails to impress with her comic and musical abilities.

The troupe rotates nightly (the previous night instead of Jupitus they had Cariad Lloyd which I would loved to have seen) so you're never quite sure who will turn up - part of the fun.

It's quite a "hot" ticket in Edinburgh, understandably, with this week already pretty much sold out but tickets are still available for the second half of the Fest§ival. If you like this sort of thing, which I do a lot, then you'll already have decided if you want to go or not. Recommended.
